Welcome to Nature

Located at Bilpin, this beautiful property is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. The magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife and where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park!

Small events, retreats and gatherings can be held on the property. We have had ecology walks, family reunions, bush tucker workshops, artists using the land for retreats/creative work and more. We are open to your ideas to help bring your nature inspired event to life!

Enjoy the sounds of the bubbling stream after rain and see the sunset at the waterhole, or go for a row boat paddle on the large dam. Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper. The campsites offer a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but it’s on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water).

The glamping tent is well away from other campsites, offering an exclusive and romantic getaway or retreat with a friend. You arrive to fresh linen and a lush queen sized bed ready for you! There is a wash area with a river stone sink and well appointed eco-toilet facilities.

There are 3 spacious campsites to choose from at the other end of the property - one at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx. 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest, close to the road (easy access in and out). There are two others sites at the back with water views.

From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries and taste some of the region's delicious produce. Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive ( 4WD only - hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veg picking, Mountain Bell’s Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and restaurant, the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery.

With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin! We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer, it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQs for large groups (with notice and if hosts are available). Please discuss with your hosts for further details and availability. The land is a nature retreat and developing animal rescue sanctuary, so we love to share the space with respectful nature loving people. Our motto is leave no trace.

We look forward to welcoming you to our unique and magical slice of paradise!

Mountain Lagoon Reviews

“Everything about our stay was fabulous, comfortable, relaxing, it was everything plus a whole lot more than we could have asked for. The hosts Danni & Adam were so accomodating and helpful. I also loved how isolated It felt from any one or anywhere. The perfect place to escape the world and reset. Thank you guys, we will be back” - Kelly

“A lovely quiet, clean campsite for a weekend stay. Plenty of room for two couples - one of us in a B class camper and the other in a tent + 4WD. Clean composting toilet and hand washing station and well set up for a campfire (weather permitting). Directions provided were super clear and Dannii was very responsive to all our questions before and during the trip. Thanks Dannii and Adam for a lovely stay.“ - Chris

“Fantastic! We had a beautiful weekend exploring Bilpin, Mountain Lagoon, & Mount Wilson, with this incredible tent for the night. The 'glamping' tent is enormous and comfortable; the location private, scenic, and close to bushwalks and sightseeing. Many thanks Dannii “ - Tom
